Concrete jungle where dreams are made of.

If you are not wearing green on St Patrick's Day, you will get pinched by someone who is.

These shots were taken in the middle of the city, Kota. Initially, we were suppose to visit the textile and ceramics museum. But they were closed by mid day and to be honest, I was a little bummed about that. I have been in the city for close to 8 months now and I haven't had an opportunity to explore Jakarta like a tourist. As much as everybody doesn't want to do the mainstream, I guess a Singaporean side of me yearns to be a safe explorer and trot the world using TripAdvisor's tips.

Incidentally, we stumbled across this dilapidated old dutch colonial house. It was run down to it's ruins in the most beautiful way imagine. The architecture of the stairways leading up to the verandah, detailed columns, colourful blown glass window panes, mosaic tiles brightening up the greyish atmosphere. The whole experience could be gala ball, all that was missing was a massive spring clean, a great big crystal chandelier and elite people putting on their Sunday's best.
Now wouldn't that be nice?

xx
