Something different.

 

 

 

Can you remember the last time you did something spontaneous, something that caught you off guard and surprised you? I feel as though my life is the same shit, different day. I am too young to be this bored! 

I have been hating how much I am traveling (once or twice a month) to and fro, Jakarta - Singapore! When I surf the web for cheap air fares back to Singapore for the weekends, I would steal a glimpse at the fares to Japan, Bangkok, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Europe, you get the gist... At times, the fare would at a ridiculously affordable price and temptation would wriggle through the tips of my fingers to click on the icon that says "book now". But never had I once succumb to it these past 7/8 months. (Ok, don't include M'sia and Bali, it was my birthday!)

Confused? Don't be. 

How could I put up with myself to spare that extra hundreds of dollar to be at these places when I could be back in Singapore to be with my family and friends? I spent an inordinate amount of my time whining about the things I am possibly missing out. But sometimes, it seems as though I have maxed out my potential in these 2 countries and all I really wanna do is travel somewhere else. Absorb the culture of where that place has to offer. Right now, I am probably too paralyze by guilt to do anything about it now.

With all the chaos that Chinese New Year brought, I managed to crawl out of it and spend valentine's day with my Valentine.

My favourite day spent with my favourite person, Nazry. 

Because I had to be back in Jakarta by the 14th feb for work, this was sort of our advance Valentine's date followed by a wonderful meal at Addictions. The last time I was in a theme park was a very long time ago. So long that I almost forgot how much I absolutely love adrenaline rush. In fact, one might say I live for the adrenaline. I know if I can/allowed, I would have already bought a scooter and ride along the roads of chaotic Jakarta.

You can say I am too late in posting my Chinese New Year outfit. But hear me out. This time of the year, I am always under the weather. Too much new year snacks, not enough sleep, working my ass off... It is no surprise that the illness came uninvited. I am so sorry for the delay in my posts and I hope all of you have had a wonderful and pleasant lunar new year. 

If you have seen my previous post, you would know I was dressed as inspired by Keira Knightley. Whilst shopping with this look in mind, I found this amazing tweed skirt by Marni on the sale rack! Scored! And where better to go than Topshop to look for beautiful quality blouse. Lovin' the lace detail on the chest. Mega swoooon~

I can't stress enough how much love I have for vintage fashion. The daintiness, the story each piece of clothing tell, the classic looks of  different eras. Sometimes I wish I was from a time long ago. Anyhoo, the overall appearance that I pulled together left me more than satisfied and I can't wait to put that skirt on rotation. Hope you like it too. x

Inspiration board - Keira Knightley

Lately, I have been going to this DVD store near my neighbourhood. One really awesome factor about that place is that they arrange their DVDs according to actors/actresses. Bought a couple of movies featuring Keira Knightley and what do you know - I adore everything about her so much. Her elegant movements, the way she speaks, her lustful body, her hair, last but not least, her clothes.

This year my Lunar New Year outfit is inspired by none other than Knightley.
Think shades of nudes, sheer blouses, long a-line or flowy skirts (Chloe), vintage loafers, locket charms. So in love....

Finally went around to do an inspirational board on the Polyvore website. For many years I have wanted to try them out, but I was never this inspired. (Except for when I was back in school of course.) As this is my first time, please pardon my inspiration board skills, I will get better I promise. If you have a polyvore account, follow me here! After 2 hours of batik shopping, I can definitely say that I will be staying away from Pasaraya (shopping mall which has 3 whole floors worth of batik merchandise) for awhile.
