My asymmetrical vest in Bangkok!

Last week just right before leaving Jakarta - Bangkok,
I scored these romanian architecture-like babies at an upholstery store while looking for sofa fabrics. Initially, I had all intention to make a pencil skirt out of it, but I don't have a sewing machine. And what's cooler and easier to make than a pencil skirt - a vest!
Instructions and pictorial below for the DIY steps.

Lets go!:

1. Buy a really nice fabric of your choice.
2. The length and width could be of any measurement you like depending on how much drape you prefer. In this particular vest, it was a 1m(W) x 1.4m(L).
3. Measure your back [from pit to pit]
4. Find the centre of the fabric vertically, measure out the length of your back, add 2cm of ease of each side.
5. From there, draw an approximately 15-20cm line on each side [depending on how big your arm-hole is]
6. Cut along the line
7. Voila~
Anyway, Bangkok was simply divine.
I actually have not been there in a year and a half and it's silly of me to forget how much I actually miss that chaotic city. I'll have more posts up on the blog within these couple of days. Stay tune.

P.S.
These pictures were taken in the beautiful hotel room that I stayed in. VIE Hotel. Splendid from the interior, to the location, facilities and service. Great price for a 5-star boutique hotel. Click here to check their webpage out.

Sincerely,
Judi

Apologies for neglecting this space.

The perfect weekend getaway II

Quick post of my short but perfect getaway to Belitung over the weekend.
I departed from Jakarta via Sriwijaya Air and got there in less than an hour.
Beautiful you say? One could also say its the Maldives of Asia. There are a total of 189 islands surrounding Belitung with beautiful crystal clear water covered in white sandy bay. These islands are definitely different from Bali, Lombok or Phuket. It isn't tourist infested. If you are travelling during the low peak season like I did, you might probably be the only ones in an island. Boats are easily for rental at affordable rates for island hopping.
Check out this website for tour packages! You really should!

So, I was there for a photo shoot for one of my projects at work.
I stayed at one of my company's hotel, Billiton Hotel and Klub. Pretty amazing with great food.
Hardly got to take any outfit photos so these scenery ones will have to do (sorry!).

All in all, it was the perfect getaway.

Belitung Island.

Happy Friday amigos~
How's your weekend gonna be like? I know mine is definitely looking good.
Current location: Belitung.

The number of minutes I am typing out this post, is probably the number of islands I have visited this afternoon around Belitung. I lost count of how many islands I have been to in the last 6 hours, but I can tell you for sure - Each and every one of them has their own characteristic to charm their way through the eyes of your camera. I can't even choose which of them all is my favourite.

Follow me through this perfect journey on Instagram @juddaye
I know you want to. :)

Sincerely,
Judi

Sarong Wraps.

Remember how your parents used to say,
"You're still young. There's so much time for you to grow. You have yet to see the world".
Well I say, nobody has seen the world if they have never been to Bali.
One can never get enough of Bali - and cookies. I have to bite one now. OM!

Sincerely,
Judi

Post Bali Syndrome

Finally, being able to sit in front of my mac with my PJ's on, a hungry stomach and tired eyes as a result of insufficient sleep that I have been having for the past few weeks.

Oh Bali, where should I begin. Probably I should start from booking the tickets just 4 hours before the next available flight out. The craziness of this impromptu decision was so worthwhile. I had only packed a light suitcase with 2 sets of clothing and no swimwear! I know... Wait, Whaaat!? Yea... apparently I left them all in Singapore with the thought that I wouldn't be back in Bali that soon. What was I thinking! It was for the better anyway. I hate having to unpack damp swimsuits that was still sandy from the beach.
My time is Bali was so short-time but pretty epic. The warmth and fresh air that was supplied was so necessary. Currently back in busy bustling Jakarta.
So ready to leave the city again. Bring it on, travels... I'm waiting for you.

Sincerely,
Judi
