Its December.

Hi readers!
I am so excited for what this month will bring. If you have read my last post, November has been very depressing. And I know, as cliche as it may sound - there is sunshine after every rain. :)
My blog posts from this December onwards, I am going to jot down the adventures I am awaiting to encounter during my start up on Jaapoh Vintage.

In case you are wondering what Jaapoh Vintage is - I have a dream of opening a boutique filled with pretty vintage pieces from all over the world - furniture, dresses, jewelry, etc...  But as the budget was low, I had to humble my plans and begin with being a web store first. In the past 11 months, my dream of creating a this vintage boutique has gone from notebooks full of ideas sketched, traveling to different countries scouting for merchandise, 10 hours of every available day I have working on the web store and operational documents, and last but not least, becoming an eBay addict. The hours spent working on Jaapoh Vintage while juggling with my 8-5 day job as an interior stylist was - and still is - really tough. But this experience I am encountering, its worth of every minute that I don't get to sleep.

Within these next few months, a lot will be happening. Follow me here or on instagram (@juddaye) to see where I am headed next in my scene for Jaapoh Vintage.

Gonna run to the dry cleaner's now.
It is December already.

xo,
Judi

Project Happiness #1

My favourite month of the year is arriving in just about 3 days time.
December has always had a special place in my heart. Its a month for family, love, and quality time spent together.
On account to recent events within these couple of weeks, my life has been filled with negativity. I was being very pessimistic and colourless about life not progressing in the way I had planned for it to be. With that combination and being busy as hell with work, it made me a very unhappy person.

With all that being said, as a way to appreciate the upcoming December better, I am gonna practice noting down little things that made me smile. Shall label this: Project Happiness.

Smile.

Posh wedding

Blouse: Bangkok ; Leather pleated skirt: Warehouse ; Bag: Marni (Similar here and here)

It was probably the most special day of her life.
2 Saturdays ago, I had the honour of attending my friend, Sefy's, wedding. The place was beautifully decorated with elegant yellow and ivory drapes all over. The buffet spread was made out of the most delicious malay food. If you don't already know, I am an absolute sucker for malay food. The sambal chili was out of this world. Mmmm...
The bride and groom were dressed in royal purple silk/satin(?) with intricate detailed embroidery and diamante. The entire setting was just too beautiful.
Congratulations Fariz and Sefy. May your marriage be led with loads of bliss and happiness. :)

Because I was running late from an errand, I felt a little under dressed. I came in a very simple white floaty blouse with black leather pleated skirt. Bunned up my hair and voila~ What do you think?

Hi everyone!
I know Jaapoh.bs just started a month or 2 ago, and it should only be right if my posts are consistent. If you have been reading me back at tumblr, you would know that I have been relocated to Jakarta for an indefinite period due to work. It has been nearly 6 months now and it still feels as though I have yet to settle in. My job requires a lot of attention from me, and I have been working on a few other projects here and there. So forgive me for the lack of consistency to post on the blog.

Last week, immediately touching down to Singapore from Jakarta over the weekends, I had to run a few errands with Nazry for the Imaginex Pop-up store that opened on Monday (more on that in the next post). Despite the hectic schedule, I managed to grab him to take some outfit images of me - and for him as well of course.

Since the weather has been pretty gloomy and chilly these days, I was excited to throw on something that feels like fall in South East Asia. I jumped at the thought and decided to throw on a beanie with a minimalist colour palate outfit.

Returning back to Singapore always makes my day - And of course all the local food. Nom!

Macrame knots

I desperately want to master the skills of braiding these macrame hanging pots. My DIY was successful but ain't half as pretty as these beauties. Meanwhile, I will have to master them before this Christmas for the event. Images and DIY tutorial will be up by then.

Oxblood

Tank: Random; Pin-strip vest: 80's vintage; Black skort: 80's vintage; Hat: Cotton On

Shades: Vintage Ray bans; Necklace: Custom made granite stone Bag: Alexander Wang

Camo pumps: Michael Kors; Anklet: H&M

The current obsession with the colour oxblood has been spread throughout the fashion/beauty industry like wildfire. I too had to play a part in this. I have received so many compliments on my new lip colour and have been asked where to get them. So for those who want to know, they are from M.A.C. The colour is Diva and from the matte range. I have to add - after all these years of stroking my lipstick across my lips randomly, and using a tissue to wipe off the stokes that had gone wrong, I finally got my very first lip pencil. So in love with it right now. Got them at M.A.C as well, colour: Burgundy.

So yes, I was back in Singapore couple days ago for a short holiday which was so productive. Jaapoh has so much potential to surprise you. I spent one of my days walking around China town, looking for fabulous props. Ended up in Ann Siang Hill and shop a little at Oakham Market.

Seriously, I can't wait to show you what Jaapoh has in store for you. It has been a busy couple months now, and it won't be long till the wait is over. ;) Gotta run now, but I'll be back soon. Until then.

x.

Introductory Post

Jaapoh are initials for Judi And A Piece Of History.

Like the name says, Judi has a love for fashion and all things vintage that tells a story. This has inspired her to come up with this blog to serve as a platform to share, as well as document her everyday life revolving around these fixes.

Profession: Interior Stylist
Age: 21

“They want to make this world a better place; I just want to make it a better place to look at”

You walk past an obscure back lane and you find a pile of abandoned household items. You see an old chair past its prime, a table lost for use and a refrigerator that’s outlived its time. Judi sees 3 items that could be of some use, 2 reasons why it should be salvaged and one very beautiful picture of a family having dinner in the kitchen during the 80s.
Judi’s obsession with old things and her uncanny ability to see purpose in things that was once of value has inspired her to form Jaapoh; whose main cause is to inspire creation as well as share its perspective on the beauty of treasures from the past.
